Karel Abraham amended motorcycle in a class Moto2, he is now starting with FTR
The reason for this change marks the motorcycle team Cardion AB dissatisfaction with the approach of the Italian brand of RSV to other development in a new Moto2 class with an official Honda 600 engines. Spain´s race again reaffirmed big balance of this cubature in Jerez in May, where the first twenty riders finished in one second. This of course requires not only perfect work of the team mechanics, but especially close attention to further developments and that was missing from RSV from the beginning. The machine began to lag behind the competition. Brno team had serious problems with the chassis setup and also with aerodynamics. Just for comparison, in Jerez was in a race the Spaniard Debon, who goes with the FTR, the second highest maximum speed 247.9 km / h, Karel Abraham was third from the end with the performance 237.7 km / h. Therefore, the cooperation was terminated with RSV, which is also abandoned by the Spanish team of Martinez Aspar.
The British brand FTR has fifteen years of experience in chassis modifications and construction of frames for the world's leading manufacturers and racing teams. With their M210 frame goes championships of Moto2 Spaniard Debon, who was second in the initial race in Qatar and he is on a fifth place overall. Customized machines FTR uses a team FIMMCO Speed Up, where starts Hungarian Talmacsi and Italian Iannone. FTR is doing well in the Spanish championship of Moto2 class.
Team manager of Cardion AB Motoracing Karel Abraham said about the change the brand of motorcycle:
"The main reason why we have left from the RSV was, that they did not develop the motorcycle. Class Moto2 is new and that means we even more expected continuing work on the motorcycle and on changes to get better. Every new things, that have been done on a motorcycle, was only work of our mechanics. Karel tested the FTR motorcycle before the start of a season. It looked good, but we did not make a deal about the price. We got several offers from some brands after the race in Jerez but finally we made a deal with FTR. The motorcycle should be ready for the race in Le Mans and I hope it will work out. The last word will have the mechanics. If it would not be possible to go the GP of France with FTR – Karel will start the race with RSV and FTR will be presented at the next races in Mugello, Italy. "
