Karel Abraham completed the race after the fall without points in Jerez

Saturday's qualification has indicated a huge balanced fight in this class. First twenty riders were in one second of a time. Karel had problems with the motorcycle on which mechanics failed to tune the chassis so that the front wheel was without bouncing in raid into the corners. Karel has lost to the winner of qualification Japanese Tomizawa only 1.076 seconds and over this minimum loss that meant the start from 25th place in the seventh row.

Twenty year old rider fought at the beginning , but a bulk collision came in which in the second round nine riders fell down on the track, the track was dirty and the race was stopped. While Karel was able to avoid the collapse, but he was unlucky after the restart. In an attempt to get ahead, it came a pushing situation and Karel ended up on the ground. It was a light fall, and he picked up the machine and he went on, but the loss of time was too big. From the last place he moved a couple of places ahead, but it was only for 28th place in the finish.

Karel Abraham said after the race:
"Of course I am disappointed with the outcome. I expected it to be a tough race, because starting from the seventh row is always about luck, how it will be in the scrum of forty riders. Before the bulk collision, I overtook a few riders and rode the inner track fortunately which has remained pure, and so I avoided the fall. After the re-start when I overtook Lukáš Pešek, another rival pressed us from the back, I had no place to sidestep and he pushed me. By now I could not fight off the fall. I ended up on the ground and the race for me practically finished, although I still continued to fight, but the loss of points was too big. Pity, because a motorcycle behaved much better, and problems with the front wheel were practically solved. In this very balanced class, however, shows that every detail will play the role and will impact location. Likewise, each race will be different. For the next Grand Prix in Le Mans we plan further adjustments to the chassis and aerodynamics, and so I believe that I will succeed more than today in Jerez. "
