Karel Abraham did not tested on a wet track on Monday

Meanwhile, the new class of World Motorcycle Championship Moto2 is out of luck with the weather in tests. Rain has disrupted the program of initial IRTA test in Valencia. Riders could use only Sunday in the second test in Jerez. Perhaps it will be better in the final IRTA test, which is in Jerez again starting from 27th until 29th March. Then all riders will move to Qatar, where the World Motorcycle Championship begins on 11th April.

Karel Abraham waited until 1 p.m. if the weather improves in Jerez on Monday. But the track still remained wet so the team finished testing. However, Karel did not leave Jerez with sad mood. He confirmed that he began to understand to the new motorcycle RSV and to the official Honda 600 engine in Jerez. Just the crash slowed him down for a while on Sunday. Mechanics had to replace the engine  and it took some time – Karel had more than two-hour of break. He got back up to speed in the final laps and he was close to his best time before when he ended on earth with the speed of 190 kph.

"The fall came at least appropriate moment. In that moment I had captured the sixth best time, it was good and I did understand the machine, so I enjoyed the ride very much. Unfortunately Webb helped me down inadvertently, but after returning to the circuit, I was as fast as before at the end again. I missed return to the top ten but I was happy. I had not gone many laps of testing and we had planned more laps but we had managed a lot of the other things in Jerez. Mechanics learned and getting accustomed to the new motorcycle. We had prepared several new arrangements for RSV, so the replacement of components will be more accelerate and simple. I am satisfied with the official Honda 600 engine even it is not quite as aggressive as the machines 250cc before. We cannot forget that we are still at the beginning. We still have to get to know with the new class and it will take some time. Currently, we know how to set a motorcycle and I hope we will confirm that with a good times on the third IRTA tests in two weeks, "said Karel Abraham.
