The second qualification of this year was not very good for Karel Abraham
Over Andalucia shone the blue sky again and the temperature climbed to 26 °C on Saturday. Despite the favorable conditions the day of Saturday was not succesful for the team Cardion AB in Jerez. The team struggled to set a RSV motorcycle from the morning but Karel Abraham even through the efforts didn´t get better time than on Friday (1:45,419). The biggest problems were with the front wheel "jumping", which slowed down the raids into the corners. Karel was always slower of a second than his best performance on the opening day. The efforts to accelerate ended by fall twenty minutes before the end of free practice. The fall thankfully went without injured rider, but the mechanics were very busy for lunch. Karel struggled in qualification, in the end still beat his best time from Friday, but it was not enough in a huge equilibrium of a new class for a prominent position at the start. At first rider - the Japanese Tomizawa Karel lost with only 1,076, but in one second there were twenty other riders in Jerez. Tomizawa, winner of the first race in Qatar Moto2, won the qualification with a time of 1:44,372. Nineteen minutes before the end, although he had a fall, but opponents have not overcome his performance.
Karel Abraham said after qualification:
" In such a balanced class, where I was in Saturday's qualification - twenty riders were in one second, decides the outcome of any little thing. With the setup tools we had troubles again. The biggest problem was "jumping" front wheel today. Partly it was removed in qualifying, but we have to work on it again. We are wasting to top speed, we have nearly the worst in the class. So I had finally ended only with 1.076 behind the winner Tomizawoa, but I ended up on the 25th place. And that is wrong. In Qatar, I have started virtually from the same position and I rode for some points, perhaps it becomes the same even in Jerez. "
