Turkey 2.qualification

Two seconds and the twenty second position

The second day of the Turkish Grand prix was really good for young Karel Abraham. There was a technical problem with Aprilia in the morning's training. The afternoon's qualification was even better. Karel Abraham improved his time about two seconds.

In the morning the sky was blue and clear, without clouds. The sun was shining and the light wind was blowing. Everybody expected the second qualification that was the first in the history of Grand Prix of Turkey. Karel Abraham improved his time in the afternoon and reached the 22nd starting position.

Karel Abraham:
„The weather was really cold in the morning. It was not easy for me to drive in such a cold weather. In the morning's training I was slowly accelerating. After the half of the qualification, mechanics showed me to stop in the pit and then followed a few controls of the motorbikes. There was something wrong with the motorbike and it was not possible to start it again. After getting cold, the piston pushed the ring and the engine did not function. This meant the end of the free training for me. The main aim for the qualification was to improve the time and so I did. I reached the 22nd position. The fastest lap I made in the last few laps when I was driving with Spanish rider Terol and Espargaro.“
