Abraham to be replaced by Elias in Indy

Karel Abraham will miss fourth consecutive race as he is still not fully recovered from foot injury sustained in FP4 of Catalunya Grand Prix. Czech rider will be replaced by former World Champion Toni Elias at the grid on old brickyard in Indianapolis.

Toni Elias says:

"I am very happy to be back anyway it is only for one race. I wish to Karel to recover soon and to be with his team back on the track. I must express my thanks to the AB Motoracing team and Honda to give me this opportunity. I hope to not have many problems to adapt to the bike and tyres although I have never ridden open class bike. Last week I raced on Suzuka 8HRS and I did lot of kilometers on Bridgestone tyres, which are very similar to the MotoGP. I am looking forward to work with the team for four days sharing our experience to meet the target and get on a good position. I find this opportunity as a perfect training, trying to have fun and I would be really happy to make a good result."

It´s pity, but doctors haven´t recommended me to start. Any crash would bring an enormous risk.Last week I underwent a minor surgery to remove wires from the foot. Now I´m working hard on rehabilitation. Toni is very experienced rider and I hope he will help us to collect some data from the bike and find better setup for upcoming races."
