Racing weekend in Donington

"I was quite hopeful going into Superpole 2, but it wasn’t that great. I struggled with the regular tyre before I switched to the qualifying tyre, and unfortunately I couldn’t set a lap as I had a high speed crash down the hill at turn 3. The guys did a great job to fix the bike and get it ready for the race. I had a good start in the race. The first few laps were great and I managed to make up quite a few places. My pace was consistent and I was pleased that I could hold position from the guys in front and behind me. I ran by myself for most of the race after that, and Josh and me also ran pretty close at one point. It’s good to get my best finish of the year so far here at Donington, and hopefully we can do even better tomorrow.” “Today was disappointing for us. We tried some new things with the brakes during the warm up session, and they seemed to work well. When I got to the grid for the race though we spotted a technical problem with the bike. The guys tried to fix it on the grid but there wasn’t enough time, and we had to take the bike back to the box. The team did everything they could to get it working but it didn’t happen, so unfortunately we had to retire. It’s really a shame that we missed out on today’s race, especially when we were so strong in Race 1. We can still be pleased with 9th place from yesterday and I think we would have been top ten again today, so I’m looking forward to get on the bike again in Misano.”
